Maternity Photos Are Forever
Trends come and go, but your maternity photos are forever.
This is why I approach your maternity session with a timeless editorial look with fashion-inspired outfits that will last you a lifetime. These aren’t ordinary belly photos; these are classic empowering images that will stand the test of time. Feeling the empowerment of growing a life truly glows through you and emanates on camera. Your body is changing, these changes are powerful and deserve to be embraced and photographed gracefully.
Maternity shoots don’t need to be restricted to nurseries and open fields. That is why I’m bringing maternity shoots into my studio to produce fashion-inspired moments for deserving mothers to look back on after giving birth. Maternity photos are worth taking, worth cherishing, and worth remembering.
Just as a woman's body powerfully changes throughout pregnancy, so do emotions. There is no magic crystal ball we can look into that can predict when our good days and bad days will be. This is why my photo retouching process is so important because no matter how you feel on the day of your shoot, I’m going to make sure you both look and feel your very best! Even when you might not be feeling so picture perfect, I promise to take care of making sure you are picture perfect. My retouching is tastefully done to enhance your natural beauty, remove any imperfect or pesky out-of-place hairs or dress wrinkles, and polish your image for a stunning final product.
Little changes make a big difference in the final image, here is a behind-the-scenes video of my touchup process during one of my recent maternity sessions.
I started off by doing some basic image cleanup - cleaning the white specs off the dress, doing some skin cleanup, and cleaning up the strands of hair over her eye. Next, I went and did a skin cleanup by blending the marbling on her legs, arms, and face. I then used a skin softening program that beautifully blends tones together and fine tunes. From there I did some liquifying to make her hair a little fuller while making some minor adjustments to her dress.
Next, I cropped the image and removed the leaves I had used to add shadows and dimension. From there I added a timeless warm tone and enhanced the highlights and shadows.
Retouching a photo can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes because the attention to small details makes all the difference in the final image. Every minute of retouching is worth it to deliver a timeless and beautiful image to a glowing mother-to-be!

On the day of your maternity shoots, it’s always best to wear a nude strapless bra and thong. Along with the gorgeous draping clothes I have to create the flowing look, be sure to bring along one or two pieces of clothing that make you feel your most beautiful and confident.
